Donors can search for an organization by name or cause type on the search page here

For donating, no. You can complete your donation as a guest. However, we encourage you to create an account to easily access your donation history and receipts!

For fundraising, yes. Fundraisers will need to create an account in order to create an individual fundraising page. If a user visits an organization page on GivingDay2025.com without being logged in first and clicks the "Fundraise" button, the first screen they are taken to is a log-in/sign-up screen. In order to have a fundraising page, it needs to be linked to a user account in the Mightycause platform.

Mightycause is the technology platform that powers Giving Day 2025. It is a mission-driven, employee-owned business that has served the nonprofit community by helping them with online fundraising and donor engagement since 2006. Mightycause has supported over 150,000 causes and has been the technology partner for hundreds of community-led Giving Days.

Donations made via the Giving Day 2025 platform are complete and final charitable gifts to the John 1:16 Foundation. The John 1:16 Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Donors and Donations

Donations may be made online at givingday2025.com via credit and debit card, ACH transfer (Plaid), Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

Participating organizations may accept gifts by check or cash and upload them onto the Giving Day platform. These will count towards the organization’s overall gift and donor totals but will not count towards prizes or leaderboards.

Also, donations made to participating organizations through social platforms such as Facebook will not count toward the Giving Day totals.

Giving Day 2025 is designed to generate new support, not to pay off existing pledges. Donations may not be used to pay for anything that might be perceived as a tangible benefit to the donor – including dinner tickets, membership fees, golf fees, admission tickets, or other gifts.

All gifts are tax-deductible, irrevocable, and for the unrestricted use of the nonprofits.

The minimum donation is $5.

Giving Day 2025 allows participating nonprofits to leverage a cost-effective and successful fundraising platform.

Mightycause retains a 3.5% campaign management fee from all online donations. Credit Card processing fees are an additional 2.19% + $.29 for Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.

  • Example: The Giving Day 2025 processing fees on a $10 credit card donation would be $0.85.

Donors who elect to give via ACH Transfer (Plaid) will incur the 3.5% campaign management fee as well as a 1% + $1.50 donation processing fee (not to exceed $5.00). This payment method is available to donors who give a gift of $50 or more.

Please note that donors may opt to cover the fees before completing their transaction, allowing 100% of their intended donation to be received by the nonprofit.

Yes! Simply visit GivingDay2025.com on your mobile device to make a gift.

The late giving period gives donors a second chance to donate when they otherwise would not have been able to or simply forgot. During this donation window, participating organizations have the opportunity to raise additional funds.

  • Donations made online during Giving Day 2025 on May 7 and 8, will count towards all prizes.
  • Donations made during the late giving period will not count towards any prizes.
  • Offline gifts (such as cash or check) will not count towards the prizes.

Upon checkout, you will receive an immediate thank you and receipt for your charitable contribution(s) via email, which you should print out for your tax purposes.

Mightycause automatically sends an email receipt when you make a donation, but there are several reasons why you may not see it in your inbox. Your email provider may have sent it to your junk mail folder, so be sure to check there. Gmail may have routed your receipt to your “Purchases” tab, so you should check there if you’re a Gmail user. If you were donating as a guest, a typo in your email address could cause you to not receive your receipt. We’re happy to resend your receipt — just email Mightycause at support@mightycause.com from the email address you used to complete your donation and we’ll make sure you get it.

The John 1:16 Foundation enforces a no-refunds policy, mainly due to the immediacy of tax benefits. If you have a special circumstance, you can contact givingday@thefocusgroup.com to discuss it with one of the Giving Day team members.
