Volunteerism. Giving. Women Building a Stronger Tomorrow.

At the Junior Service League of St. Augustine, we believe in the unstoppable power of women to transform lives. Through every hour volunteered, every dollar raised, and every heart opened, we create moments that matter — forging connections, building hope, and changing the future for nonprofits across St. Johns County.

Today, we come together for Kids Bridge — and for every child who deserves safety, healing, and hope.

Kids Bridge is a supervised family visitation center that offers on-site supervised visits, parent exchange services, and several programs and courses to help strengthen families. The purpose of Kids Bridge is to advocate for children who have been separated from family members and provide a safe place for meaningful visits for those families.

Kids Bridge stands today because women like you said: “We will not look away.”

Every gift you give today will help light a way forward for families walking through the darkest chapters of their lives.

When our community cried out for a safe, neutral place for children caught in family crisis, the Junior Service League answered. With fierce fundraising, visionary planning, and an unshakable belief that every child deserves protection, we didn’t just build a house — we built a haven. A place where broken families could breathe. A place where dignity and healing could begin again.

The League’s legacy lives in every laugh, every hug, every second chance made possible inside those walls.

Because sometimes, it’s not someone else’s story — it’s yours.

You never think you’ll need a place like Kids Bridge.

I didn’t.

Not when I said “I do.”

Not when I held my newborn in my arms, whispering promises of forever.

But after more than a decade of marriage, addiction stormed into our lives. First prescriptions. Then alcohol. Then something even more terrifying: the rage that cracked our world wide open.

The day I filed a restraining order, my hands shook so badly I could barely hold the pen. I wasn’t angry. I was terrified — for my babies, and for the man I barely recognized anymore.

When the judge said “Kids Bridge,” I nodded blankly, not realizing that little house on San Marco Avenue would become our safe harbor — the one place my children could see their father without fear.

I’ll never forget that first day. The way I clutched my kids’ hands too tightly. The way the bright walls and kind faces inside melted some of the terror away. The way my children laughed — actually laughed — for the first time in what felt like forever.

And I’ll never forget sobbing the whole drive home — a messy, aching blend of grief, relief, and hope.

For months, Kids Bridge was our quiet in the chaos.

Drop-offs without screaming.

Pick-ups without fear.

Moments of childhood slowly being stitched back together, one visit at a time.

Kids Bridge didn’t just supervise visits. They stitched together broken hearts. They caught families who were falling. They gave us strength, compassion, and a glimmer of something precious: a future.

Years later, my children are grown — but the walls of that little house still hold a piece of my soul.

Today, we have the chance to be that light for someone else.

Today, we can build a stronger, brighter future — one act of courage, one act of love, one act of service at a time.

Join us. Give today. Be the difference.
